Join us for a celebration of the work of Jhumpa Lahiri, author of no.41 in 蜜桃导航鈥檚 Cahiers Series,听Bone into Stone.

For three years the renowned author and translator Jhumpa Lahiri has been working on translating Ovid鈥檚聽Metamorphoses聽into English. From among the elements of transformation that have spoken to her directly and intimately she has chosen here to focus on stones. The connotations of stone pose questions of origin and destiny, immobility and unsettledness, living and dying.

Jhumpa Lahiri received the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for聽Interpreter of Maladies, her debut story collection. She is the author of聽The Namesake,听Unaccustomed Earth,听The Lowland,听Translating Myself and Others, and聽In Altre Parole听(In Other Words). She received the National Humanities Medal in 2014, and was named Commendatore of the Italian Republic in 2019.
