Residency renewal application – How to be issued a “Convention de Stage” ?

The NON EU students who do an internship and need to renew their residency card are required to provide the Immigartion Office- SIS a copy of their “Convention de Stage” to justify their plans and request.

The first step to obtain a “Convention de Stage”is to submit an internship registration form (once the student receives an internship offer).

The “Convention de Stage” will be issued to the student accordingly.

Moving to another address - Address modification on the residency card

If you decide to move to another address and you hold a valid residency card (VLS-TS, éé辱é, Titre de Séjour):

  1. You cannot have your new address added on your current residency card;

  2. you muststart a NEW residency applicationin orderto update the French Authorities about your NEW Address.

How to process:

A. Contact SIS to inform them you have moved to another place;

B. Book an appointment with SIS to start a new application;

C. Gather the necessary housing justifications to update your situation and to complete the application;

D. In addition, you must submit a copy of your valid passport, a copy of your current residency card (VLS-TS, éé辱é, Titre de Séjour), 4 pictures (French passport-size), a copy of your birth certificate (VLS-TS), a bank certificate (Attestation de solde bancaire)

E. Once complete, the residency application will be submitted to the French Authorities in order to be processed andto officialize the new address.

NB.The validity of theTitre de Séjourisupon the decision of the French Authorities

SIS and the University have no visibility regarding the validity of theTitre de Séjour.SIS has no control/ authorization to appeal against the French Authorities' decision.

3) Under 18 residency procedure

  • More than one-yearTitre de Séjour:€ 79,00
  • Return VisaVisa de Retour Préfectoral: €6,00(issued by the Préfecture de Police- Salle des Visas- Ile de La Cité- 75001 Paris)

NB.TheVisa de Retour Préfectoralis issued to the NON EU students who turned 18, and have been issued a first request-éé辱é. It authorizes them to legally return France from travelling abroad.

The NON EU students must show the borders a valid passport, a validéé辱é, and a validVisa de Retour Préfectoralwhen they re-enter France

4) Late residency renewal fees

  • € 180,00:LATErenewal request submittedfrom one day to three monthsafter the previous residency card expired("Titre de Séjour")
  • € 417,00:LATErenewal request submitted from the fourth month afterthe previous residency card expired("Titre de Séjour")

NB.The students are requestedto wait until the French Authorities’ decision is made and they are confirmedto buy the set of tax stamps.

Lost/Stolen Passport, Lost/Stolen Residency Card
If you lose/ you are stolen your passport-How to process:
  • Urgently contact SIS by email to inform you lost/ you have been stolen your passport (sisataup.edu)

  • Immediately go to the Commissariat du 7ème- 9, Rue Fabert- 75007 Paris in order to declare that you lost/ you have been stolen your passport.You will be issued a receipt (=Récépisssé de déclaration de perte ou de vol de pièce d’identité)-/sites/default/files/download/student-life/support/student-immigration-services/aup_lost_stolen_document_declaration.pdf

  • Send SIS by email a copy of the receipt in order to update your records
  • Immediately contact your country Embassy/ Consulate in Paris in order to request a NEW passport;
  • Send SIS by email a copy of your new passport once you have it.

If you lose/ you are stolen your passport(with your student visa insertedandyou are not done yet with the OFII)-How to process:
  • Urgently contact SIS by email (sisataup.edu) to inform you lost / you have been stolen your passport (with the student visa inserted)

  • Immediately go to the Commissariat du 7ème- 9, Rue Fabert- 75007 Paris in order to declare that you lost/ you have been stolen your passport and the student visa.You will be issued a receipt (=Récépisssé de déclaration de perte ou de vol de pièce d’identité)-/sites/default/files/download/student-life/support/student-immigration-services/aup_lost_stolen_document_declaration.pdf

  • Send SIS by email a copy of the receipt in order to update your records
  • Immediately contact your country Embassy/ Consulate in Paris in order to request a NEW passport
  • Schedule an appointment with SIS to immediately start a new residency application
  • Send SIS by email a copy of your new passport once you have it in order to complete the residency application
  • The residency application will be processed by the Préfecture de Police:
    • Once done, the student will be first issued aéé辱é
    • Then, the student will be issued aTitre de Séjour

Important

  • Between the day the student applies for a new residency card and the day it is issued, they must remain in France as they are not authorized to travel abroad
  • SIS cannot guarantee how long the residency procedure can take
  • The policy is very strict: if a student wants to travel abroad after they received their first request- éé辱é, they must apply for a Visa de Retour Préfectoral.It is mandatory.

This visa, once issued, authorizes them to legally return France from travelling abroad.

  • When re-entering France from abroad, the student must show the borders a valid passport, a validéé辱é, and a validVisa de Retour Préfectoral

If you lose/ you are stolen your passport(with your VLS-TS = the student visa+ the OFII sticker inserted)-How to process:
  • Urgently contact SIS by email (sisataup.edu) to inform you lost / you have been stolen your passport (with the student visa and the OFII sticker inserted)
  • Immediately go to the Commissariat du 7ème- 9, Rue Fabert- 75007 Paris in order to declare that you lost/ you have been stolen your passport and the student visa+ the OFII sticker.You will be issued a receipt (=Récépisssé de déclaration de perte ou de vol de pièce d’identité)-/sites/default/files/download/student-life/support/student-immigration-services/aup_lost_stolen_document_declaration.pdf
  • Send SIS by email a copy of the receipt in order to update your records
  • Immediately contact your country Embassy/ Consulate in Paris in order to request a NEW passport

    • Urgently contact SIS by email (sisataup.edu) to inform you lost/ you have been stolen youréé辱é
    • Immediately go to the Commissariat du 7ème- 9, Rue Fabert- 75007 Paris in order to declare that you lost/ you have been stolenéé辱é.You will be issued a receipt (=Récépisssé de déclaration de perte ou de vol de pièce d’identité)-/sites/default/files/download/student-life/support/student-immigration-services/aup_lost_stolen_document_declaration.pdf
    • Send SIS by email a copy of the receipt in order to update your records
    • Schedule an appointment with SIS to immediately start a new residency application
    • The residency application will be processed by the Préfecture de Police:
      • Once done, the student will be first issued a newéé辱é(DUPLICATA)
      • Then, the student will be issued aTitre de Séjour

Important

  • Between the day the student applies for a newéé辱é (DUPLICATA)and the day the newéé辱é (DUPLICATA)is issued, they must remain in France as they are not authorized to travel abroad
  • SIS cannot guarantee how long the residency procedure can take

If you lose/ you are stolen yourTitre de Séjour-How to process:
  • Urgently contact SIS by email (sisataup.edu) to inform you lost/ you have been stolen yourTitre de Séjour

The Visa De Retour Prefectoral - Information

Information about theVisa de Retour Préfectoral

TheVisa de Retour Préfectoralis issued to the NON EU studentswho have been issued a first request-éé辱é-éé辱é Première Demande.

This includes the NON-EU students who turned 18 and had to go through a residency application with SIS after being issued either a visa for Minor (Mineur scolarisé) or a long stay student visa for under 18.

Same with the NON-EU students who used to hold a MAE card (diplomatic card issued by the French Foreign Affairs-Ministère des Affaires Etrangères), had to do a residency application with SIS since they gave French Authorities their card back (because they turned 18).

In addition to theRécepissé Première Demande, theVisa de Retour Préfectoralauthorizes the NON-EU to legally return France from travelling abroad.

The NON EU students must show the French borders:

  • a more than 6 months’ valid passport,
  • a validéé辱éPremière Demande,
  • a validVisa de Retour Préfectoral

Procedure to apply for aVisa de Retour Préfectoral

Must be started at least 10 days before travelling abroad.

Location:

PRÉFECTURE DE POLICE- ILE DE LA CITÉ- Place Lépine 75004 Paris – Metro stop: Cité

  • Go to SALLE DES VISAS- Ground Floor of the Prefecture
  • NB. Place Lépine is a square on your left side when you head up to Saint-Michel from Châtelet, facing approx.La Sainte Chapelle.

Days/ Hours:

MON-FRI 08:00-16:00

Required documents:

A more than 6 months’ valid passport;

A validRécepissé Première Demande;

1 photograph (French passport size);

The flight booking;

€6,00 tax stamps (the set of tax stamps can be bought at any Tobacco shop or on line –which is much easier and faster-).

IMPORTANT

Once the student is granted theVisa de Retour Préfectoralbythe French Authorities, they must immediately send SIS a copy atsisataup.edubefore they leave France, in order to update the residency procedure.

Since it may be a bit confusing for the NON-EU students to make a difference between aRécepissé Première Demandeand aéé辱é(issued for a residency renewal), the students should feel free to contact SIS atsisataup.eduto clarify their situation.
